Rachel Jeantel: Powerless People Shocked By Community Manifestations

Empowerment is understanding why things manifest and addressing these issues. Empowerment is not focusing on a behavior alone.

I think the minds of many Black people are snapping quickly under the pressure and realization that we have not gotten as far as we think. We haven't gotten very far economically, morally nor through harmony amongst ourselves. In fact I'm sure many can agree we have regressed in many of those areas. Whatever sense of those attributes we thought or felt we had seems to be hanging by a string just like our TOTAL dependence on others for our well-being. Most Black people are making it through the tolerance and charity of others. From jobs, charity, programs as well as through the educational system.

No, we are not back on the plantation yet, nor is it a day, week or year after the end of slavery but many of our comforting illusions are being revealed rapidly in this fast paced society that revolves around media exposure and the exposure of ourselves.

One of the things that keep coming back to haunt this race time and time again is our lack of economical power. At this point we are still riding on the backs of others for jobs and sympathetic charity. Economical power is fundamental to the development of any race, nation or even family household. Without it a trickle effect of disaster occurs and there can be NO STABILITY.

Let's tie a lack of economical power with how Black people have come to cope with this status.

Should Crime Victims Sue Sites Like WordStarHipHop and Facebook?

How would you feel if you were filmed being beaten by assailants and the video was posted online?

Sites that allow these types of videos get paid for it's content, why shouldn't the victim? Unless the footage is being displayed through a news source, victims should be compensated. News sources are more discriminating and particular about what they show and which crime footage's should be reveal. It also curbs the ENERGY of being able to showcase these crimes undetected.  This is something that will mutate and become more negative. And yes, we influence each other so more women will do what they observe men do, as demonstrated in this video.

One of the weaknesses of humans seems to be the inability to come against negativity. They feel a loss of control and compensate that feeling by escaping with the many distractions that are around them. It's only when this negativity knocks on their door do they want to react. Often-times that's when the negativity has truly become overwhelming. It's no wonder that those who study human behavior can see how easy it is to beat humans into the submission of accepting any environment they are surrounded by.

Sites like WorldStarHipHop and increasingly Facebook are breeding grounds for displaying negativity. These sites are attractive to those who commit crimes, video tape them and display it to others. The amount of views they receive make them feel like celebrities.

Now I ask you do you want to slap the spit out of the mouth of celebrities who push the ENERGY that any publicity is good publicity. This is a mentality that has grown over the years. In times past celebrities worked hard to maintain a good image. Yes they could receive a lot of focus and attention for something negative, or lewd, but they valued their image.

Little Boy Desperate to Show His Swag

He wants you to take him serious, he's not just some little boy he's rocking Polo from head to toe

At first you want to write this off as just being cute, or should I say "hood cute". But then towards the end of the video this little boy says "Man get Rich Baby".

So that tells you two things, one, he has the wrong people around him at a very young age. People who allow him to absorb the madness of thinking identifying himself with some materialistic item makes him more powerful. Two, the culture is penetrating him at warp speed and once negative mentalities are developed around others who have them too, it's like living in bondage. It's like being a slave on a plantation with other slaves who don't fight back and have been broken.

I try to compare this to the ENERGY of my youth....

Shifting through crime stories and incidents of violence I sometimes come across cases that really stand out to me. Look at the picture of the young man above. They say "a picture is worth a thousand words" and I think this is one of those cases.

This picture reflects the ENERGY of the culture and a negative environment penetrating a persons very being and soul. It has the ENERGY of a young man who broke down spiritually.

Say hello to 17-year old Jimmy "Boo Boo" Clemons Jr.

Jimmy Clemons is charged with 1st degree murder for the death of 22-year old Valley Alexander who was slain in Latana March 16. He is being charged as an adult.

I will provide the link that goes into detail about his horrific crime, but I want to address the ENERGY of this picture.

Why Women and Children Don't Listen to Positive Black Men

Positive Black Men vs. Negative Black Men, who will be the Alpha Male and control Black women and children?

Male deer will grow antlers for the main purpose of battling with other males. They will lock antlers and test their strength during the mating season.

In some cases, a male will grow antlers so large that the other males will simply not bother challenging him. This allows that male to have the right to breed with the female deer in the group and pass his genes to the next generation.

I just saw a video that irritated the hell out of me. It's actually an ENERGY I've been observing from Black men who call themselves the "good guys". An ENERGY that needs to be checked and corrected. I wish a Black man would stand up and do the "checking", that would be more appropriate, but I will still attempt addressing this situation. Hopefully it will penetrate the minds of some Black men who consider themselves to be good quality men.

First, you cannot, cannot, cannot tell Black women what to do and have them listen. To me the fact that more positive Black men attempt to do this shows that many of them have been affected by the paradigm shift that has affected this race. They just don't know how to be the stronger gender. They don't believe they have the power to change this race as men. I think this is very sad in fact, it's almost unbearable to witness.

They have to realize they are not the ALPHA men of the community and understand the ways to change this.
