I just finished watching “Bring You’re a Game” and I must say I enjoyed it very much. The highlight of the docudrama was the fact that it was full of great statistical information, delivered in a visually impacting way. This statistical information allows young Black men to realize the odds that are against them and how they can possibly change that.
HOWEVER…
Here’s the HOWEVER part….
I long for the day when Black people can look at the whole picture of a situation and not just focus on one aspect because it’s easier.
I can tell you right now as a high spiritual vibration that listens for a “pin drop” from God, that simply speaking to the community in the way that this film did will NEVER WORK.
God wouldn’t allow it to work.
What do I mean by this?
Well God respects education; he realizes that it’s of high importance here in this “time space reality” where humans judge one another based on it. He understands that education makes your life physically better here on earth and allows you to reach great heights career wise.
But
And there is a big But
God made this world in a metaphysical way. He wishes for all humans is to grow and develop spiritually. He wants each and everyone to become a higher spirit consciously and have a higher spiritual vibration.
When you die he will not ask you how far you made it in school, that’s a human concern.
Having said that, because God wants humans to develop spiritually and develop a higher consciousness. He would not allow education alone to be the deciding factor as to whether this race is set free or not. He would not allow education to be something that transforms our communities without a spiritual consciousness that understands the importance of ENERGY in our life.
We as Black people have created a culture that will ALWAYS hold the youth back and change the environments that we live in. Metaphysically we are not in alignment with God. We highlight, support and glamorize all the ENERGIES we wish this race to avoid and be free of.
This shows God that we aren’t spiritually evolving, and like I said that is his main concern. Being outside of this alignment shows God that we have to face MORE obstacles, MORE pain and MORE confusion for us to throw our hands up and realize we aren’t progressing spiritually, which is what dictates our quality of life.
God would NEVER let up on this race. He would NEVER observe this race rushing to school and relieve us from the problems that plague our communities. In fact as you can see these problems simply follow us no matter where we go. It finds its way into our educational systems too and anywhere we try to navigate.
We are DESTINE to experience and deal with all the ENERGIES we create, support and are passive to.
Let me explain this in more depth. I’ll explain this because I’m sure many people are saying well education will save us from these problems, if the youth would just go to school they would not fall victim to these circumstances.
NOPE, not really
You cannot absorb any ENERGY and grow spiritually as I said.
Here’s the dilemma we face as Black people:
As you know there will always be those that choose the street life, there will always be those that sacrifice long term gratification through hard work for immediate gratification in choosing the street life.
Now here’s what we have done as a race. We have EMPOWERED these people through this culture. We have given them the illusion of strength and authority. We have done this to such an extinct where this illusion becomes the definition of what a real man is in the community.
Through this culture we have supported the ENERGY and notion that aggression and immediate gratification means you are more clever than those who chose to go the honest route, and in turn make less money.
People with a higher spiritual consciousness know that this illusion is NOT the truth. They know that this lifestyle has repercussions which can make life worst then before. Unfortunately, those who do not have this consciousness often times live in areas where they are surrounded by a street life ENERGY. They are surrounded by people who have these mentalities and live by them. The fact that they seem to get the most respect intensifies their illusion of POWER. And because humans are driven by hope, despite the pitfalls of this lifestyle many will still take this path.
In addition we have empowered gangs through this culture. We have supported the mentality that aggression is POWER and have supported the notion that if a Black man has no money he is worthless even if he lives in the ghetto like those who attack him. We have made it appear that their alignment with gangs and with others who are negative STRENGTHENS their appearance of POWER.
This has weighed on the spirit and masculinity of many young Black men in the community.
And because many of them live in environments where despair is prevalent they will listen to those who can not only convince them they can go the negative route, but they place money in their hands immediately as they tell them this. They satisfy an immediate need and feeling within these Brothers. They appear to be so loving that they are willing to “put them on”. They feel like they have a crutch to lean on and they misconstrue this as being family.
All we can do is tell them to hold tight be positive and within a decade or more you can possibly make it. We cannot fulfill all their emotional needs and longings.
We can’t come against this. We can’t come against this for MANY reasons; the most overwhelming reason one which sends a strong ENERGY is: the simple fact that we too support the image of those who are negative.
We are impressed by the negative; we don’t come against the negative. So in turn it dilutes what we say. You can’t simply take them aside and tell them to change and don’t listen to the NEGATIVE when they witness you doing the opposite.
You LISTEN, you’re IMPRESSED, and you even seem to FORGIVE their negativities no matter what.
One of the biggest resentments I have towards this race is the fact that we do not create contrast. We seem to support and stand by anything. This becomes confusing to those who have many pressures in their life. They look outside of their environment and see those like themselves seemingly succeed. And while you can drill statistics into their head, it’s human nature to gravitate to those things that require least resistant and those people that are like you.
Why shouldn’t they believe that they can be a gansta, hustler and make it in the streets and in the spotlight?
Why shouldn’t they listen to those negative Brothers in the street, they seem to have more power and respect then a positive Brother.
We refuse to come against this culture and TEAR DOWN the POWER these negative men seem to have. We feed and support this illusion through our SUPPORT.
Let’s get a little DEEPER
Let’s be HONEST and take a look at what happens when Black men DO go to college. Many of them drop out
Now I was a dropout and there are people that dropout for many reasons, but most Black men dropout due to distractions. They don’t dropout like I did because they weren’t stimulated.
That’s a Lie,
That’s an excuse, if Black women are doing it you would think Black men could also. Despite possibly not being stimulated Black women persevere and continue on.
Even though I admit I dropped out, I dropped out because I’ve never been stimulated by school. This is because unfortunately the settings that I was in did not satisfy the very broad, conscious mind that I have. I was bored. And the distractions and the pace sometimes drove me mad. But guess what; though I dropped out of school I spent much of my time in libraries and bookstores. I did the same while I was in school. I would leave school early or not go at all and sit in the library or bookstore all day; either that or I would be at home. I certainly didn’t run the streets, go to “hooky” parties or wind up pregnant. I think subconsciously I thought I could teach myself, and in many was I did. I didn’t drop out of wanting to obtain knowledge. I simply wasn’t stimulated in my environment. I didn’t have the maturity to convey this to my Father who kept and eye on my schooling. Instead I became conniving to avoid school and the watchful eyes of my Dad. At the same time my mind continued to progress and advance despite this because I made a point to ensure this. I’ve NEVER seemed behind my peers; in fact many times it appeared to be the opposite.
This is not the case for many Black men, they aren’t stimulated because there is an aura of pressure placed on them to have and be immediately. When they leave school their minds become dormant, they don’t continue to feed it. They don’t substitute their lack of being in a formal educational setting by going to libraries, bookstores and reading. No, they hit the streets and their subconscious goal is to protect their masculinity and image. Our culture has definitely contributed to this scenario. The pressure placed on a Black man’s masculinity is astounding.
When I was younger I clearly remember my Mom telling me “you NEVER attack a man’s masculinity, he’ll NEVER get over it”. This culture does just that, and the lower spiritual vibrations in the community will make a point of doing so in order to control Black men. They understand whether consciously or subconsciously that this type of pressure usually makes a man conform to their way of thinking, no matter how bizarre.
That’s why even a man, who could care less about the Strip Club wouldn’t vocalize that fact in this culture. Doing so makes it seem as if there is something wrong with them. It would be an indication that he might be gay, corny or lame. After all enjoying strip clubs is a prevalent ENERGY in this culture. This was not so in the past.
I have seen the transitions of this culture. I have seen hip-hop go from:
Battling another “MC” through skill---who has the best skills
To
Lyrics becoming more intense when talking about the hood and hood life. Music had more of a “Wutang Clan” ENERGY an ENERGY that reflects just trying to survive and keeping a “grimy” drenching through the dirt ENERGY.
To Now,
Now Lyrics revolve around:
- Who’s the most respected
- Who’ the most powerful and runs the hood through their gang affiliations
- How much money they have
- What type of materialistic things they have.
- Who has the biggest rims, the most guns and most expensive chains
- And who hustles the best.
This music delivers a STRONG ENERGY that if a Brother is not representing these ENERGIES they’re insignificant.
The deadly icing on the cake becomes the ILLUSION that penetrates the subconscious minds of these Brothers that having these qualities makes them more successful with woman. It allows them to think that they will get the best women having these qualities. This becomes confusing because it surely appears to be the truth. But they don’t understand that these women don’t truly see them, they too are possessed by the streets and don’t add value to their lives.
They have a simplistic way of thinking due to the environments they grow up in. They fail to realize that it’s a CERTAIN type of woman they will attract. Nor do they care as long as it seems they are getting respect from other Brothers based on the woman there with for how ever short time it might be.
A higher spiritual consciousness and vibration can see through this ILLUSION, but when you are bred in these environments you are “Auto Suggested” with these mentalities daily.
As a generation X’er when I was coming up Black men didn’t talk about materialistic things to the extent they do now. If you had money you did, if you didn’t you didn’t. You might try to get the latest sneakers here and there or for Christmas so you could walk around “profiling” at times. But guys didn’t talk about the need to have Rims, diamonds. Nor did they talk about getting money to make it rain on the hoes in the strip club in order to feel POWER and RESPECT.
That is the ENERGY NOW
And because these observations aren’t explain in this way in a Sociology book they are often overlooked. Sociology books don’t delve into the realm of the subconscious mind or metaphysics. God is the highest spiritual vibration and he created this world to revolve around those two things so that you can spiritually develop.
So it’s hard for those who have a low spiritual vibration to understand the power of METAPHYSICS and how the subconscious mind truly regulates your actions.
Let’s DIG DEEPR into the principle of Auto-Suggestion and the type of Auto-Suggestion that is impounded into the mind of Black men daily:
I study the lyrics of many rappers, to absorb the mentalities that manifest in the environment where Black men grow up.
Let’s Study a Little About Energy
Before I begin I don’t want the ESCAPIST MIND to lock up and drift off so here are some points to remember before we continue:
1. Most at risk children do NOT have parents that have the ability to raise them well, so to simply say that it’s the parent’s responsibility makes no SENSE, and that’s why positive mothers lose their children everyday and will continue to do so. These children live in the same neighborhoods you live in. These children WILL affect your environment and influence their peers. They will WRECK HAVOC on your life and destroy your sense of safety and well-being in your community.*
So I don’t want to hear ONE WORD about parents, if these children had parents that cared and/or could do something about their actions they would.*
Simply saying it’s the parents responsibility allows people to SUM these things up and get back to their life and their fried chicken and collard greens. I absorb ENERGY so I know this, I see this and it doesn’t fly with me. You also have to understand that the youth are influenced by their peers and will get into situations that defy their raising even if they think it can be momentarily. They don’t realize they are possibly entering a trap they can’t get out of. But of course the OPPOSITE message is portrayed to them by their communities and by the success of those like them in the media.
2. It’s important to CONCENTRATE on how INFECTIOUS these forms of “Auto-Suggestion” are. Not only does it speak to the mindset of these Brothers because they see this all around them, it’s handed to them in a way that seems POWERFUL.*
Not only does it seem POWERFUL, when it’s combined with a RHYTHMIC approach and allowed to hit the mainstream, it sends a message of RESPECT. This is when you have a dangerous combination. This is a combination we ALLOWED to become dominate in and out of our communities. Their negativity seems to be HAILED all across the world.
Now let’s start with 40 Glocc’s “Concrete Jungle”. I want you to watch this video and understand how the message of negativity can be encased in such a way it’s almost HYPNOTIZING. From the beat to the attractive (though metaphysically worthless) model, to the flashes of money. It points to IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION, POWER and MANHOOD.
We as a community want these Brothers to concentrate on a minimum of 13 years of school and if they chose college an average of 17-19 years.
This almost becomes a joke when you weigh not only the neighborhoods they come from, but the lack of support from family, friends, the community and this culture.
The only way to counteract this is to CHANGE the media and exclude the perception that they can be successful no matter what.

Black men speak with guns these days; they have been “Auto-Suggested” to do so. There is no way that things could get worst without a mentality change. There was violence and gangs in the past, but the media and music did not FUEL these situations. Gangs weren’t getting shout-outs in the mainstream media. Violence and crime was considered the underworld of society, when those in the underworld looked outside of their communities they saw themselves but in a different form.
Now I want you to take a look at these lyrics that make Black men feel POWERFUL in negativity and IN CONTROL despite their chaotic lives.
Here’s some of rapper “Plies” lyrics, note the bolded areas that weigh on the Black man’s masculinity and sends a challenging ENERGY with a message that without money “you’re” nothing:

I want you how there is an emphasis placed on money, not only how much they have but how they spend it. The music revolves around things that are supposed to make a man feel like a man. That’s a deadly ENERGY to hand to a community of Black men who feel they are less POWERFUL, have no options. They begin to believe this because it seems apparent everyday where they live.
The only thing the community can do at this point is to COME AGAINST the ENERGIES that have penetrated the minds of these brothers.
You can’t ignore these ENERGIES, you can’t be passive to them. Even worst you can’t support them. You have to come against these influences with the same force they penetrate the community with.
I don’t think the community realizes how important this is. I think the community fails to realize the power of Metaphysics and influence. Whatever you take in penetrates the mind.
So now that we have seen how POWERFUL these messages are we can begin to realize why we have been talking about the same conditions for years. We can begin to understand why reasoning alone will not help Black men in the community. We can also see why it gets worst with each passing year.
